WHAT IS INTRALOGISTICS?

Intralogistics integrates all the processes that occur within a company during product handling. This refers to the flow of reception, storage and transfer of goods, a process that has great impact in any industry.

Regardless of the type of product handled, a secure storage system allows up to 85% optimization of spaces, 60% more capacity in the stock, a reduction in the error rate in picking to zero, thanks to the elimination of manual search and a decrease in energy consumption of up to 60%.

In Latin America, although the term intralogistics is not widespread, it is essential to incorporate it as a link that is often decisive in the supply chain, since we are talking about one of the moments in which products and charges can have a great value differential, given the great technical and logical possibility of resolution today.

Within the concept of intralogistics are involved processes where equipment is used, in the average of cases, such as:

Stacker cranes and elevators
  • AGVs
  • Weighing and identification systems
  • Intelligent transport systems and material handling for translation, classification and distribution picking and storage
  • Robotic stations
  • Lift truck
  • WMS – management and flow control software
Advantages that make the difference
  • Maximum security for goods, personnel and the operating environment.
  • Reduction of costs
  • Increased production flexibility.
  • Automatic tracking of material and warehouse stock.
  • Optimization of processes
  • System integration during production.

The application, integration and efficient management of these teams and their processes, will provide different levels of intralogistics efficiency.

What is the trend in intralogistics 2025 for Latin America?

As in other fields, of the new industrial era, it is not a secret that the trends that are coming along and have come to stay are:

  • IoT and IIoT (Internet of things and Industrial Internet of Things): interconnected without limits and mobile and in real time.
  • Blockchain applied to Supplychain, as a cyber security strategy
  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning + deep learning.
  • E-commerce in boom + m-commerce hand in hand with augmented reality, continue to change the way of buying that we knew until today, directly affecting logistics and intralogistics in a few years.
  • Mass customization of the hand of 3d printing technology
  • Sustainability as a parameter to determine efficiency, and requirement.

These complex advances will challenge us at the very center of our human nature, as professionals capable of maintaining the focus on the real needs of our customers and consumers, and generating analyzes that provide light and not shadow to our supply chain, logistics and intralogistics
